New For You! 3D Printing

The St. Clairsville Public Library’s 3D printer is available for making three-dimensional objects in plastic using a design that is uploaded from a digital computer file. We have a multitude of filament colors and the average print time is one week. No library card is needed.

Cost: 3D printing at the library is currently free while we have a remaining supply of filament purchased by a grant from the EQT Foundation.

Requesting a print job: The most popular website for finding things to 3D print is Anything on there we can print. To get a 3D object printed at the library, just send a website link of the design to the email address: and trained library staff will take it from there.

Notification when your print job is ready: The average print time is one week. Once your print job is ready, you will get a call or email instructing you to pick up your print at the front desk. Items printed from the 3D printer that are not picked up within seven days will become the property of the St. Clairsville Public Library. Items must be picked up by the individual who requested them. Any patron who does not pick up their print job will forfeit access to future 3D printing.

Restrictions: The St. Clairsville Public Library reserves the right to refuse any 3D print request. The 3D printer may be used for lawful purposes only. Patrons are not permitted to use the printer to create objects that are:

  • Prohibited by local, state or federal law.
  • Subject to copyright, patent or trademark protection.
  • Unsafe, harmful, dangerous or pose an immediate threat to the wellbeing of others; for example, guns, knives or other possibly lethal weapons.
  • Items that are obscene or are deemed inappropriate for the library environment.
  • Objects larger than 5″x5″x5″.
