The St. Clairsville Public Library’s 3D printer is available for making three-dimensional objects in plastic using a design that is uploaded from a digital computer file. We have a multitude of filament colors and the average print time is one week.
Cost: Free! Thanks to a grant from the EQT Foundation.
Requesting a print job: Browse the many 3D objects available on the thingiverse.com website and select one that you want to 3D print. Email the website link of your 3D object – along with the color, quantity, and any changes needed – to the email address: 3dprinting@stclibrary.org and trained library staff will handle your request. Include your library card number in the email or call the library.
Colors available:
Matte Colors: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Light Blue, Dark Blue, Pink, White, Gray, and Black
Silk (Shiny): Gold, Rose Gold, Red, Yellow, Teal/Green, Blue, Purple, Silver, White, and Black
Notification when your print job is ready: The average print time is one week. Once your print job is ready, you will receive an email with instructions for picking up your print job.
Restrictions: The St. Clairsville Public Library reserves the right to refuse any 3D print request. The 3D printer may be used for lawful purposes only. Patrons are not permitted to use the printer to create objects that are:
- Prohibited by local, state or federal law.
- Subject to copyright, patent or trademark protection.
- Unsafe, harmful, dangerous or pose an immediate threat to the wellbeing of others; for example, guns, knives or other possibly lethal weapons.
- Items that are obscene or are deemed inappropriate for the library environment.
- Objects larger than 5″x5″x5″.
Items printed from the 3D printer that are not picked up within seven days of notification will become the property of the St. Clairsville Public Library. Items must be picked up by the individual who requested them. Any patron who does not pick up their print job will forfeit access to future 3D printing.
