Challenger Center Mission -Teen Summer Reading

Our Teens will complete their Summer Reading Program in the Challenger Center at Wheeling Jesuit University on Thursday, July 31st (11:00am-3:00pm). Parents/Guardians must provide all transportation for their teen. Each teen must bring a bagged lunch. Wheeling Jesuit University 316 Washington Avenue Wheeling WV, 26003 Space will also be available for teens that are not a part of the Summer Reading Program, but Summer Readers will be given preference as to their jobs during the mission, “Return to the Moon.” Teens may join the Summer Reading Program at any time. Registration for the Challenger Center Mission begins is mandatory. To sign up, contact the Children’s Department: 740-695-2062. Mission Training for this event will take place at the library on Thursday, July 17th at 1:30pm. Summer Reading Program 2014

Dear Patrons, You and your children are invited to join the St. Clairsville Public Library’s Summer Reading Program. Not only will there be incentives to read, but you can attend fun programs and events for all ages! Children ages 0-11 can register for “Fizz, Boom, Read!”, an exciting mix of science experiments, crafts, and other activities. The programs are free and open to children of all abilities. Don’t forget to count how many books you read! By keeping their minds active during the summer months, children and teens are better prepared when school is back in session. Remember, you are your child’s first teacher. Explore picture books with your children. Ask them to point out people, animals, and objects in the illustrations. Read to your children and ask them to read to you. Your librarian will be happy to help you find books that are just right. Click here for a Children’s Summer Reading list of events. Technology Center

The St. Clairsville Public Library held a ribbon-cutting/dedication ceremony on Friday, December 13, 12:45pm for their new Technology Center.   The Technology Center is located on the second floor of the library and is open to the public free of charge. Computers are available for use and tables are set up for wireless users. The Technology Center was funded by donations from the Feisley Family, as well as the Friends of the Library, and the Library’s Board of Trustees. Mother Goose, Preschool Storytime, and Toddler Time

Join our Children’s Department Staff as they present Mother Goose – a program for younger children filled with rhymes and classic Mother Goose stories. (For children 6-24 months old with a caregiver). Toddler Time is for children 24-36 months who enjoy playing, stories, and activities. (A caregiver must be present). Paint with Friends/Paint like a Pro

Info: Participants will be instructed on how to paint a picture onto a canvas or wine glass by a professional artist. Please visit the Friends of the Library Facebook page for more information. Painting supplies and appetizers are covered by the cost, but participants are asked to bring their own beverages. Paint with Friends – adults Paint like a Pro – certain age ranges of children (Check our Program Calendar for age requirements for each event). Cost: Paint with Friends -Depends on the particular session. Paint like a Pro – $15 per participant Registration: Participants may call the library to register.
