On bad, wintery days the following should be considered before making a trip to the library:
- When the Belmont County Road Advisory is at a Level 3, the library will be closed or will be closing due to the definition of a Level 3.
- In the case of a Road Advisory Level 2, the Library Director will make a determination as to the status of the library. As evening comes and the temperature drops, it may be necessary to close the library early.
We strive to alert our patrons of our need to close as soon as possible. While there are some methods we can use to update our status, it depends upon the staff available at the time and the situation. We try to use media outlets such as: WTOV9 news, as well as update our Facebook page to notify patrons.
While we give it our best effort, there may still be times that it is impossible to make notification of our being closed. PLEASE CALL the library at (740) 695-2062 BEFORE YOU MAKE THE TRIP if you have any doubts. When weather is suspect and no one answers during regular open hours, please assume the library is closed due to weather.
Thank you for your patience during the cold, snowy days. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience.
